Since I started treatment, I would sleep about
2-3 hours per night. Falling asleep was no problem, but I was bright awake after a few hours.
I had to start taking Klonazepam. I don't like taking it, but not sleeping is worse for my healing process. I don't take it all the time, sometimes an antihistamine will be enough.
I have a fixed ritual going to bed. I shower, relax a bit, drink tea with a little bit of honey (one of those calming bedtime organic teas). Then brush my teeth, take the Klonazepam, take an antihistamine (cause my heart is always racing), read a few pages until I feel my eyelids drop and off I am.
I think that a pre-sleep ritual is really important. Your body gets conditioned after a while and automatically calms down.
Some days though nothing helps and I lay awake all night, instead of sleeping just 2 hours.
