My Hands and Bartonella

This is INSANE, ok - bc my doctor has been suspecting Bartonella since I first saw her. But she took her time treating it, bc she likes to treat one thing at a time. She said she believes the lyme is gone, so its time to start to target the bartonella. Within 2 weeks of switching from doxycycline to Bactrim, and I was already on Zithromax, I made another leap forward. But I kid you not, everytime I went to see her, she would look at my hands. I told her, my hands are always dry, bc I wash them so much. But come to think of it, they were way worse this year - my skin was all white inbetween my fingers and such, the skin was cracking and bleeding - my husband said they looked like working hands, LOL.

I hadn't paid any attention, but my husband took my hands today just to hold them, and he said, holy cow, it looks like your hands reversed in age! I still can't stop looking at them. They look and feel smooth! I have been so busy that I didn't notice. But if anyone has Bartonella or suspects it, I did read that it does cause extreme dry skin. And the antibiotic combo I am on is obviously working against the Bart!! My rib pain and foot pain are also gone (due to the bart)Thought I would share this story with you!!

I have lines on my fingertips..... I have such bad rib pain it hurts to be hugged sometimes. :( in glad your tx is working chapelle!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh! My hands are also so dry that I am coating my hands with vaseline and wearing gloves to bed! They sometimes get extremely itchy with little fluid filled blisters that I scratch open. Gross, I know. I have a prescription steroid ointment I use to control these flares. My trouble spots used to be in between my fingers, but it's now migrated to my left palm and knuckles of both hands. It's usually better in the summer.
