I have been emailing back and forth with my doctor's medical assistant about different subjects since May 6th or 7th. First there was an episode of vertigo seemingly caused by plaquenil...then questions about some lab work she wanted me to do, where to have it done and getting the lab orders...then questions about the new antibiotic, potential dangers of taking it vs the benefits of taking it...then questions about a yeast infection caused by the antibiotics and finally questions about a worrisome side effect...then Wednesday I got an email from the doctor telling me to write down all my symptoms and we would discuss it at my next appointment and if I need something now I can schedule a phone consult because they are a small office and can't handle multiple emails. I don't think it's right to be charged for a phone consult to get instructions about taking medication, asking for lab orders or for help dealing with side effects from the medication she prescribed...am I wrong? I would change doctors, but she an her husband are the only llmds in the area who take my insurance...any suggestions??
