It's a tough burden to carry - I'm 26 and with the man I plan to marry and I do worry about this a lot. It's especially tough because of the nature of this whole thing - we find out we have a debilitating disease first, openly admit it to the world and THEN we find out it might be an STD? ...talk about awkward.
All pregnant moms have the responsibility of what they pass on to their children - I like to use it as motivation instead of letting the fear and worry get to me. Think of it as just one more reason to put your all into your health, if not for you, for your future children, so you'll be passing on all sorts of good stuff instead of the bad. And if it helps, people are more understanding than you'd think about the whole "lyme might be sexually transmitted" thing. At least the good ones!
I do think it's important for anyone at risk of contracting lyme from a partner to both pay attention and be prepared - I've heard astragalus is a good herb to take regularly for lyme prevention, and it's relatively inexpensive and a pretty good tonic herb as a side benefit. I often think it's a good thing for anyone at risk to take just in case!
