Hey,
So I've been dealing with this symptom for several years but when i explain it to people its really confusing for them. I am wondering if it could be lyme related and if any of you have experienced this as well. Its awkwardest when it happens in public because i cant control my screams.
Sometimes (like earlier today) I get really painful head pains that feel like a lightning bolt is striking my brain and branch out in little points of pain. I am fully conscious when it happens. It is not constant pain, but sudden, very intense shooting pains that only last a split second or so. It always catches me by surprise and I let out a yelp or whimper--- like a reflex--- i can't control my verbal reaction. I dont think the yell is a reaction to the pain--- it feels like both start at the same second, but im not sure. It gets difficult to explain when it happens in public, especially work, how do you guys deal with it?
Also, similarly, sometimes I get sensations where there is a ' wet washcloth' swiping through my head--- it does not hurt physically but it disorients me and feels very uncomfortable--- comparable to getting hit in the head with a soccerball and that dazed feeling you get right afterwards. i do the same uncontrollable jerking and yelping. Often happens right before sleep or if i am relaxing watching a movie. I know it affects my time recognition because i notice i dont remember a big chunk of the movie and have to rewind several minutes to catch up where i remember last. Does anyone else deal with this?
Note: I was diagnosed w epilepsy 6 years ago and believe i have undiagnosed lyme for 16 years.
