Have any of you gone through the process to remove mercury amalgams? If so, I have some questions for you:

Can you please give me an idea of what to expect? Easy procedure? Do they numb you? Painless?

What did you all use to detox effectively?

Did you notice a positive difference soon after removal?

Anything else you think would be helpful for me to know, I'm all ears! THANK YOU!!!

I am going in 4 days and have no idea what I have ahead of me. I will be getting 2 small fillings removed and replaced with BPA-free ceramic fillings by a holistic dentist, so shouldn't be TOO big of a deal....I hope :(

I need to do the same...long overdue. I'm glad you will have a holistic dentist doing it. He should know how to protect you from the mercury as he removes it. Small fillings should be an easy procedure.

Have you asked the Holistic Dentist these questions? If so, what did they say?

I just had the last of mine removed 9 in all. I used in between treatments gluithone(sp) and vitamin c
when they were all removed I'm using dmsa. It wasn't painful they just used the regular numbing stuff.
They did use a dam and they gave me oxygen. I really haven't noticed anything yet. I'm sure it takes time you got to get the mercury out of the body especially if it brings down the immune system. So hopefully I will feel better soon.

moon61- That's really helpful. Sounds like our dentists use the same method. Mine is giving me glutathione, vit c, and alpha lipoic acid for 30 day detox. Im happy you brought up the DMSA bc thats what I was wondering about. Im having a hard time finding it purchase though!

Just a little info regarding the amalgam removal. My dr suggested to wait at least 2 months before detoxing. She learned the hard way by detoxing immediately afterwards and the toxins moved down her spine and could not hold her head up. Please be careful with detoxing metals.

I would go to a holistic dentist that knows what they are doing. If it's not done correctly, it can cause more problems than its worth. I have a consult coming up in the fall to have mine removed too.
