I'm thinking about getting tested for MTHFR, but I'm a bit confused about a couple things. Lyme brain is bad. I'm getting pretty bad headaches the more I read.

MTHFR mutations can affect the ability to detox, right?

There's Dr Yasko's test and 23andme, right? Any others?

Are there any accuracy issues with the Yasko vs 23andme tests? Is one better than the other?

What type of DNA sample do they require? Hair follicle? Blood? Saliva?

I want to know about the Yasko test too. I have not done either but I really want to do one of them and was wondering which one would give me better answers. I guess they are different. I know that the Yasko gives you the exact supplements you need to take which the 23 and me does not. Also, the 23 and me is the entire genome but Yasko focuses on detox. So I am weighing my options...

23andme stopped doing health testing in November.

AML94 is correct. According to their website, 23andme is no longer doing health testing. I'm considering having Amy Yasko's test done. Is this something my doctor can order for me? Is there a specific lab that needs to be used? Since 23andme is no longer providing this testing, is the Yasko test the best option?

this is NOT true about 23 and me, the only thing that don't give you is your health RISK. Everything else is the SAME!!! and to be honest , i didn't even look at my health risk, i just used the raw data i got and uploaded to genetic genie to find out what my mutations were. Who cares what they say is your health rick!

i did sterling Ap and genetic genie and i'm no closer to knowing what is gong on that i was before her ap ;) Genetic genie at least explains things to me! but i've done both!
