question about reactions to abx

So I was just diagnosed with Lymes and my doc gave me the 3 week course of doxy. I believe I have had lymes for at least a year, but could be longer. When I first started the doxy, the first day was okay, but the next couple were pretty crappy. Around day 6 I was feeling a little better and continued to be okay for a couple of days, but now am starting to get symptoms again. Do you think it's a sign I need a higher dose, or is it normal to have some reactions then feel okay and then react again? I have an appointment with a doc who treats many lymes patients, but that is end of August and once I finish this 3 week, I won't be on anything until I can see him. Do you think this would be bad too? Thanks for any help!

Thanks girlie...I am on 100mg 2 times per day...the doctor that diagnosed me was my cardiologist and has no experience with lymes. I did find a doctor who I believe is an LLMD, but I can't see him until the end of August. The office staff says he has many lymes patients and that is the first available appointment. I did try to do a post, but no one seemed to know any for Pennsylvania. I am going to see what this first doc has to say and go from there. I did find an LLMD a few hours away, but the fees are too much and I can't afford to go there. I am worried about running out of doxy and being on nothing for over 3 weeks, but I doubt my cardiologist will prescribe more.

I'm sorry, MS in PA, I don't go to threads where members are asking for LLMD's when others are posting - I get a lot of requests that keep me pretty busy usually. I do have some referrals for PA, although I don't know how close they would be for you.
