So I've been feeling real good lately so I decided to go out for a few drinks with my pals. This turned out to be a painful lesson. Usually I can drink a w light beers and be OK not this time I had a few rum and cokes. I'm in complete regret. I'm not sure what the actual cause is but my entire body has been burning and inflamed for the last 2 days.Soooo awful... It's getting better but oh my god it was painful. Anyone know why this happened after drinking rum yet I can go with beer and be fine?

Side note. I started the chronic tonic from misty Meadows and the balance issues I had been having are gone. Only took a week. Added to the abx I think it's helping a lot.

The problem with the rum and coke is probably the coke! While Lyme patients have varied reactions to alcohol, your reaction sounds like you are either having inflammation from the sugar or you just fed the yeast in your gut and it is messing you up.

Detox, treat for yeast and save the drinking for another time!

I had a hunch that it may have been the sugar. This morning I'm feeling so much better. Still some joint pain but not terrible.Definitely staying away from that stuff. Thanks

Will - I think for sure it was the sugar! Coke is the worst with sugar! There is a youtube video where they boil coke away, and what is left is this thick gooey black stuff! It is all sugar! Coke has so much sugar that it would be impossible to dissolve that much sugar into water unless it was acidic. And coke has lots of acid to dissolve that extra sugar!

Brubble- Saying that alcohol releaxes and dilates the capillaries is true. So you are saying the bart was released? But Will didn't have this issue from the beers. Also I thought fluroquinolones were the only bacteriocidal antibiotic for bartonella. I didn't know there was another one aminoglycoside.
