Hello all,

Is it possible to contract Lyme Disease if I noticed a tick on my hand (hiking in the woods), and directly flicked it off? I supposed it stayed on it for a few seconds only (maybe 1 minute), and I didn't notice any sign of being bitten neither.

Hi Gurifis,
Welcome! I'm no expert but I think the tick has to be on and feeding from you in order to transmit the bacteria. Was there a spot of blood where the tick was flicked off your skin?
