Heart complications of Lyme?

I just wanted to let you know that yes, I have Lyme and yes, I have heart symptoms. I had been to urgent care many times before my diagnosis, with some of the scariest symptoms being related to my heart- I always had normal EKG's, etc. I can relate to the pounding/forceful heartbeat that you're talking about, along with on and off chest pain/pressure. It's very unsettling. I'm not sure what causes this or how common it is in Lyme, but I can definitely relate.

Do you have any other symptoms that concern you?

I would highly encourage you to seek an LLMD or LLND (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor or Lyme Literate Naturopathic Doctor) who can look at your full picture and help you determine if it's Lyme. This forum is great for that... That's how I found my doctor! You can post a new thread titled "Looking for LLMD/LLND in (where you're from)," and someone will get back to you with recommendations.

There are indeed several possible causes of the types of symptoms that you are experiencing. Mineral deficiency can be a cause. My wife was recently diagnosed as having low mineral levels, and low magnesium specifically. She had heart flutter and palpitations. Mineral therapy erased the problem. Bio-toxins from the die off of bacteria can also interfere with nerve function, which could cause arrhythmia. An infected tooth can cause heart issues. Any dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System inn general could cause your heart to go into a state of "fight or flight".

Although our daughter has been doing well for several years, she had a bit of a setback in the spring of this year. There were heart rhythm issues at the core of the problems. Dr. J. used a new test devised by cardiologists that is a far better test for current cardiac function than the standard EKG. It is called the Phonocardiogram test. He then used a new treatment approach that he recently devised to treat her cardiac issues. The treatment is called neurocardial synchronization. it is noninvasive and fast acting. Her heartbeat normalized within 3 days and her other issues went away as well.

I have no idea as to what the source of your problem is. If you have LD, there are many possible complications. Every lyme patient needs to effectively detox, and to be sure that optimum mineral and vitamin levels are maintained. It may require a skilled physician to diagnose and treat your problem. The average physician is not up to the task.

The key is to find a competent and knowledgeably physician that can accurately diagnose the nature of the problem, and then to employ an appropriate treatment. Good luck in your journey.

Your post totally resonates with me! I've had the heart symptoms for over a month now in addition to the other "classic" LD symptoms which I've had for 2 months now.
There are times when I'm laying in bed and the entire bed seems to shake from the force of my heart beat and the blood coursing through my veins.
One reason for this is the bacteria' ability to increase the clotting factors in the blood (I think that's it) causing the blood to be thicker than usual. This makes the heart work harder and the blood to increase in volume.
Have you noticed veins bulging more than usual and the pounding headaches?
Anyhoo, it's worth checking out because it's a serious health risk. Not only does thick blood make it difficult for blood to do its job of transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells but there's an increased risk of blood clots, heart attack and stroke.
Not trying to say the sky is falling or anything but just want you to be aware of the possibility so you can ask your dr.
There's a whole lot of info on this forum. It takes a while to take it all in.

I'm interested in a response as well GH since I've experienced the popping joints and joints popping out of place in addition to the headaches and insomnia.
