How much better are you?

I have been on abx a little longer than two months. I have a little improvement - I am sleeping better and my bouts of anxiety are almost gone. Pain is a bit worse at times. My hot flashes have also improved. I was taking Cats Claw and Jap Knotwd for 6 weeks prior to abx. I was hoping for more improvement in the pain dept by this time.

I feel about overall… Somewhere around 90% my former self. But I'm medicating with abx so much, I'm trying to get myself off of them and onto a herbal protocol.

The battle is actually a pretty long one for me… I was thinking 6 months and I would be good as new. Just not the case. And then there is the law of diminishing recovery. As you get closer and closer to your former self it is harder and harder to get those last few recovery points. I think getting to the first 90% of the recovery was 10% of the battle! The last 90% of the battle is getting that last 10%! Of course these percentages are figurative. But I really have made progress… At one point in time I was telling myself okay I am 98% symptom free. But that was 4 months ago! So really I think 90% is a fair number to use.

Of course the person that is in full blown Lyme wants to be just 50 %… The people at 60% want to be at 70%, the people at 70%, want to be at 80%, and finally the people at 90% want to be at 91%.

You are so right! I keep saying "If I can only be 50% better, it would be great!" Lol.

The hormones really helped me. Something for some of you to consider.

This is so interesting. Thank you everyone for participating. It really gives me hope to see all of you have made significant gains in your health. Hopefully things just keep getting better for you!

DX'd almost exactly a year ago after being sick ~ 23 years. 10 months of all-herbal and the past two months have added abx (Biaxin, Bactrim...plus Plaquenil). I'm at about 50%, but feeling like I might almost be over a BIG hump to major improvement.

Good luck upping those percentage points, all!

Oh Traveler! I am so sorry. I can't believe that you got struck by lightening twice!! Thankfully you are full of knowledge and know how to beat the life out of this bug!

I have been posting some discouraging stuff the last few days, because certain symptoms have really flared the last couple weeks, BUT.... I've seen many improvements over the last 4.5 months. Some days it's difficult to focus on the improvements (/be positive), when you're herxing/having a flare.
Today has been a good day for me, and my only symptom is mild low back pain.
I'd say, (prior to the last couple weeks) I'm at around 70% of my normal self. Before treatment I was at about 30% my normal self (on an average day).
I can pick up my son/carry him upstairs, workout (yoga/elliptical/bike), go to the store, and do light house work -- these were things I was really struggling with back in March everyday. I still have days when these things are difficult, but things have certainly improved.
I'm just now starting an herbal protocol - I really wish I would've done it sooner.

I've had the infection for almost 16 yrs, been in treatment since Nov on A-L Complex and ANX since December and I got worse before better but I say I'm at 85%. Happy with my results!
