Been MIA - current Update!!

For those of you who know me on here, well, I was slammed with being incredibly busy at the end of the summer and with the start of the new school year. Even though my 3 kids are actually in school, I am busier now then I was over the summer when they were home!! So now that things are finally calming down, I will be on here regularly again. I have been wondering how all of you have been doing!!!

As for me, the countdown is on!! I started antibiotics on Feb 8th 2014, and Friday is my last day. I am so excited. I stopped Bactrim over two weeks ago, and I am stopping the Zithromax Friday.

My last few symptoms have been resolved - no more rib pain, no more numbness at all, no more "cold spots" (peripheral neuropathy). All I have left are minimal twitches and my muscles are still not where they should be (basically the damage done by those darn bugs!!)

So in short, I am not 100% myself, but I would say I am 99%. The twitching and the muscle soreness is believed to be due to leftover nerve damage and leftover inflammation. Let's hope this is the case!

I was previously on a bunch of stuff, and now once Friday comes, I will only be on the following:

AL complex
A-Bart
BodyBio PC
Vit B12 (only 3 times a week)
Vitamin C
Magnesium
Omega Fish Oil
Angionox (I still haven't been taking this regularly - weird stuff, it makes my tongue hurt! its for circulation and nerve repair)

I have been exercising regularly (cardio and careful weight lifting). I have more energy now then I did before I got sick! I only need 6 hrs of sleep, and sleep well during the night. I gained some weight back (WAAAHHHH!!) That was one of the positive things that came out of Lyme, LOL - I was super thin!! I still only weigh 118 - but I want to go back to 113 - it was fun wearing whatever the heck I wanted, and not having to tuck my tummy in, LOL

Now, here is the "Revolutionary" Part of my recovery - I am going to see a Dr in NYC who specializes in biomagnetism therapy. My dr said she was very skeptical of him at first, but many of her lyme patients have benefited a great deal from this. Crazy as it sounds, he puts magnets all over your body (over your clothes, not directly on your skin), and it is supposed to make your body extremely alkaline and take care of the remaining organisms that are harmful to your body. She said that this has helped lyme patients who were trying to get off antibiotics, and it has taken care of their remaining symptoms. I am going to give it a shot. I have an appointment on 9/24. Everything my Dr has recommended to me has worked thus far. I will post a new thread about it once I go thru with it and understand it better. My outlook on everything is GREAT, BUT I am not going to totally shocked if anything does go wrong or if I start to get symptoms back. I am ready for whatever lies ahead. If I do awesome, then I will be jumping for joy. If I struggle, well then the battle is not over yet, and I still have plenty of time to Prevail!!!

I don't know a whole lot about Angionox - there is not much info on the internet. It is a form of nitrous oxide, and I think it is the citric acid part that burns my tongue. (It is in powder form and you mix it in water). As I mentioned it is supposed to help with circulation and nerve repair. You can only get it thru a Dr's office. My dr waited to put me on it, I am assuming since I am off a lot of other things. She was very careful with giving me too many things to take at once, that's why I like her so much. If I get any more info on it, I will let you know. Don't worry, I will continue to check in more regularly!!

Chapelle I think we see the same doctor so I'm so glad you are well! She had me try the biomagnetism as well-- didn't work for me but I am a chronic case in early stages of recovery, so I'm sure it will help you more. Congrats!

Congratulations on feeling so much better!! That's awesome!! I do see that you will stay on the herbal protocol though, does your doc have a set time that you will stop those as well?

Some will need to be very careful with this as it has a larger dose of L-arginine in it and for some, it *can* reactivate their EBV virus.

Congrats! It makes me happy to see someone resolving neuropathy symptoms as those are my main symptoms.

The metal that Lyme needs to survive is manganese, and it is a unique pathogen in that it uses manganese instead of iron.

Manganese is paramagnetic so it is quite influenced by magnetic fields.
