So, I'm 18, and I used to party a lot when i was 16/17, and during the summer before i got really ill I was drinking a lot, to the point where it felt weird to go a day without drinking. The reason I drank so much is mostly because it was the only way I felt that I could function in the every day world (I'm pretty sure I've had lyme for several years). all of the anxiety, the agitation that came with the disease felt like it was gone when i drank, and the neurological pain. But it would be something like, a 5th of vodka shared between a couple of people, every day/every other day. And I'm pretty concerned about liver damage now.. Plus I was really underweight when all of this was happening. I'm sure the disease plays a big part, but I now can't drink anything with caffeine in it, even it it's less than 5% caffeinated because i'll react so badly to it, I'll feel horribly anxious and get chills. I haven't gotten drunk since september of last year, I haven't abused pills or substances / anything like that either, but I was wondering if I should be worried about it. Last time I was tested, I had really low cholesterol, 165 i think? do you think the alcohol thing could be why I went from being ill, but still able to function, to being so ill that i couldn't leave the house? Do you think I should be doing more things to repair it? I take dandelion root, milk thistle, and i do detoxing, I'm going to start coffee enemas again. I eat healthily. but do you think I should get checked to see if I have permanent damage?
