My thought (of course) always turn to detoxing when symptoms are needing to be controlled- whether the person has started treatments or not. It's the toxins from the bacteria that drive our symptoms, and by increasing your detoxing routine, you can lower the symptom severity.
We have great suggestions in the "New to Lyme?" thread that sits at the top of the forum. Be sure that you start off slow until you know how your body will react. Detoxing too much or too fast can bring on it's own herx.
It's very common, as a matter of fact it's a hallmark of Lyme, for symptoms to "cycle" - they have patterns that many can recognize once they start charting their symptoms. You can do this on your own with just a note book, we have a link to Rowingmom's symptom charts, or here is an online journal that you can use that is specifically set up for Lyme pateints:
