Have most of you actually tested positive?

I'm just curious if most of you actually tested positive? And how long were you sick before you were tested?

I was sick for 6 yrs before I had the IGenex test.
My results were:
CDC - negative
IGenex - indeterminate

Sick for 15 yrs, CDC negative, below is my Igenex results in my signature line.

Nope CDC and Igenex negative but with IND on Lyme specific bands 34 and 39, and a strong +++ on band 41 so I'm pursuing treatment.

I have been tested by CDC about 5 times for lyme, both, Elisa and WB. And all negatives except for a positive 41 band on one of the WB, and a positive Elisa with a negative WB. Of course , CDC thinks that the Elisa was a false positive. Then I got tested by an ID docto for Bartonella, Erlichia and Babesia, no luck, they also came up negative. I have never gotten tested though Igenex. The first LLMD that I ever saw said not to waist my money because these co infections are harder to detect..., Ah??? confused

Sick four months with FOUR negative Lyme tests from other labs and ONE CDC positive from IGENEX. The Positive from IGENEX was done the same week a negative from Quest labs on a western blot.

CDC positive from Igenex. Sick for 8 months before diagnosed.

I had a CDC Positive western blot in January from a local hospital lab.

I only tested positive after I had been on antibiotics for at least 6 weeks.

CDC - negative
IGenex - positive

How do abx change a negative or ind result into positive?

My LLMD said to take the abx for 4 weeks and then we would retest to "try to get a positive" reading. I don't understand.

So....the way I interpret it is my immune system was really inhibited. My WBC count was low for example. Once I started antibiotics my WBC increased and I would assume antibody production therefore would also increase, enabling antibody test to become more positive with treatment....

just a gander.

That's my understanding as well, Beth.


I was sick for well over 40 yrs - tested negative 'officially' but had band 23 positive on two separate WB's through Labcorp (2007 & 2008) and a fully positive test for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in 2008.

Thank you for clarifying. That does make sense.

It's ironic that my two favorite classes in college were Microbiology and Immunology. Lol. Little did I know.......

I never had a positive western blot but I did have a positive PCR urine test through Igenex.
My results:
CDC: 41+
Igenex: PCR urine positive; 31 IND, 39 IND, & 41 ++; IFA 80

After one and a half years of symptoms I was tested by Igenex and a few bands were IND. I then started herbal treatments and was re-tested by ImmunoScience about 6 months later. This test came back positive.

I was sick for about 3 months, but going downhill very fast. Tested through Labcorp, asked for both Elisa and WB, came back negative. Before my negative result came back saw an LLMD who put me on abx. During my follow up visit I asked if he would do any testing and he said he doesn't bother with IGENEX because everyone comes back positive.

Seeing a new LLMD next week....
