After 8 months of antibiotics I started getting really bad cramps in my lower abdomen and burping a lot/feeling full. I've tried:
Prilosec otc
Zantac
Tums
Metamucil
More probiotics
Apple cider vinegar
Baking soda
It got so bad I had to take two weeks off antibiotics and it went away. Now, after 5 days of restarting it has come back :(
How am I supposed to treat for so many more months with these cramps??

Have you asked you Dr. about
it?
How much better are you...are you close to healing? maybe try switching over to herbs?

Are you sure it's due to too much acid in your stomach? It could be from not having enough acid in your stomach or even food allergies.
If it continues you may want to consider switching over to herbals, as Girlie suggested.

I had mild stomach ulcers from just 5 months of antibiotics. I did a lot of bone/fat broths (not skimming the fat off). And it helped...immensely. Not everyone can do this of course. I am very lean, have low cholesterol etc. etc. It is pretty much the GAPS diet. I would recommend looking it up and seeing if you can incorporate it somehow. It is a lot of work at first but you can get 5-7 meals out of one day of cooking.

My llmd recommended IV antibiotics which I'm on the fence about
. When I asked her about
"natural remedies" she said no.
The problem is, I don't know how much better I am because I don't know if my burning is small fiber neuropathy or a symptom...
Since I took the two weeks off a lot of my other symptoms are coming back now which I haven't experienced in months.
I'm getting a second opinion with another llmd but it's two months away. :(

While you may have to change doctors, the choice of using abx, IV abx or herbs is still yours and yours alone. If you don't want IV abx, you can just 'tread water' with your current LLMD until you get to the other one. You can say no to the IV and tell them you will only do oral abx.
Most often when a person has these infections, small fiver neuropathy is just a symptom of the infections. Mine foot pain that was so bad I couldn't walk for the first 15 yards without hobbling really bad - but it went away as soon as I stopped herxing from the herbs I use to treat my Lyme infection.

I hear ya! I've been on antibiotics since June and I've had stomach issues the past few days. I've developed a strong gag reflex so it's no fun when I take my medicine. Now my appetite is weak and I always feel a little queasy. I've been gluten free, soy free, sugar free, artificial sweetner free for months but I sure don't want those restrictions when my stomach hurts. I want good old Sprite and crackers. My LLMD said it's okay to take a drug holiday if I need it for a day or two a week but I don't want to hold up my recovery.

Thanks everyone for the replies :)
I'm thinking it might be low stomach acid. I did a test this morning with baking soda and water to see how long it takes to burp. Going to try apple cider vinegar before all meals and digestive enzymes.
Definitely going to make some beef bone soups too!!
Thanks again!!

This might be obvious, but I hope you're taking lots of probiotics.

I had some serious lower abdominal cramping and pain when I first started to pulse Tindamax while on IV Rocephin, Mempron, Zith and Bactrim. The attacks reduced over time on a 30 day cycle and finally went away, so it may have been die-off or hitting some type of parasite.

Thanks for the reply tickbite :)
Luckily my cramps have calmed down quite a bit.
I've scaled back on my antibiotics and started drinking lemon juice and cider vinegar before meals. I think it was low acid or a reaction from the meds...

I'm glad you are feeling better!! I can relate better than I want to! I had a rude awakening to a peanut allergy just day before yesterday and had severe intestinal cramping for several hours. I had one spot in my abdomen - right at belly button level - that was hard as a rock! Ugh! :shake head: what misery!!
