We see Dr. B. and he was the one pushed against the wall to say home instruction. My son was to be in top 10 in high school and now has failed, gaming 17-19 hours a day, sleeping nights and doing no work. He's dropped scouts, does not go to any (the few he is invited) parties (sweet 16, etc), friends houses, has lost pretty much all of his friends.
We also see Dr. St. in Howell, but no one handles this kind of addiction.
Long conversation with Dr. B and he said there really is no facility for neuro psych lyme that will treat with anitbiotics, most are holistic... then hard to find facility to treat addiction and lyme... his last phone words "I'm sorry to say, but I really wouldn't want to be in your shoes right now".... great.
I found a mom and another girl who was just like Andrew and asked them. She went to Rogers, but the mom said Mclean is currently more in tune to lyme now and can treat the ocd/addiction, just seems I don't know how to get him there and wish there was another, closer way to motivate him to do the right thing.
I don't care how much he games as long as grades are good, work is done, helps around house, does his Eagle project and stays connected to real life...
My son is 16, so really needs to get it together. I'll look into Columbia, also heard Rutgers UMDNJ has an ocd program, but it did not help my new mom friend's daughter enough....
I had not heard about
neurofeedback - I have to research that, thank you.
