I've been having worsening symptoms over the past month that are mostly the same as what I was having when I was first diagnosed in the spring (and had a positive blood test back then). My GP was skeptical of the idea of lyme (and I didn't even go in saying my lyme was back, I said I was having the same symptoms and I was concerned). I went ahead and found a lyme Dr in my area, good recommendations, etc, I researched him and asked questions before going in.
He did a different test for lyme, and also tested me for Babesiosis, Bartonella, and Ehrliciosis. (For reference, although I'm not exactly sure when my infection occurred, it would've been in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or maybe New York.) He said the tests would be much more definitive... anyway, they all came back negative. I've been feeling worse, more joint pain, and I'm having redness in my face (nurse at work said it had the appearance of the butterfly rash associated with lupus) accompanying tingling sensations.
I'm following up, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe something else is in fact going on with me at this point. It would be a bit of a coincidence to go from lyme in the spring to something else now, but I already have Crohn's disease, and it's not that odd to wind up with more than one autoimmune problem. Does anybody have any thoughts? I was honestly hoping I would get a positive, because as much as an infection sucks, I might be able to get treated and get better, as opposed to what the other options look like, which are pretty much going to be with me from here out...
