Detox baths and antibiotics

My doc just put me on 50mg of doxycycline twice daily... I was wondering if it is okay to do detox baths (Epsom salt and hydrogen peroxide) while I am on the antibodies.

50 mg of doxy twice daily....that is the dose for a small child.

Is that your PCP that gave you that prescription? I'm thinking you're not a small child...and should have a stronger dose than that.

Yes! Just be sure to space everything out a few hours.

I am a child, but not a very small one. I'm 15.. What is a standard dose for most people?

Doxycycline isn't usually given to children, so I'm thinking that at 15, your Dr. is treating you as an adult - but maybe a small adult? I don't know how much you weigh, and the reason he/she chose that amount.

Are you seeing a Lyme Literate Dr.?

200 mg. twice daily is the usual dose to kill the lyme.
Some people start at 100 mg. twice daily and ramp up to 200 mg.

Please do not take anymore than your Dr. has prescribed.

If you aren't seeing a Lyme Literate Dr., please find one.
Are your parents involved in your treatment?

Yes, my parents are very supportive. My doctor is not LL, but we are hoping to get an appointment with a LLMD very soon.

Yes, I've done 2 so far. I have a cold right now, so I'm not sure if I'm herxing or just have a cold.

Don't forget to add in the other things as well - dry skin brushing, drinking lemon water, clean diet, no sugar and more that you can find in the "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread that sits at the top of the forum.
