I'm sick and tired everyday.
Horrible Joint pain, malaise, no appetite, anxiety.
The doctors have done every blood test. The "extensive" blood test from the infectious disease doctor came out negative. For Lyme antibodies. Also a whoke bunch of other blood test with different viruses, also all negative. Even though I tested positive on the Elisa blood test, and then confirmed through Western blot.
The infectious disease basically told me I have anxiety, and referred me to therapy.
I'm going crazy, I'm worried sick. I am sick of feeling like I got hit by a bus and no one can help me.
I'm only 23, and would love to feel normal again.

It looks like those doctors are the crazy ones. This is pretty typical with lyme disease.

People on this site will help you find a real doctor who can help you.

That is exactly what happened to me too. You need to go to ILads.org and look for a LLMD.

I'm only 25 and I started my journey when I was 22. Just this last month I found myself in and llnd office. Did you have a tick bite? It doesn't even really matter. You need to contact ilads and make an appointment asap. It might take a few months to get in. Don't wait years like I did. I might be left with permanent damage to my eyes. Now I'm having heart issues. Don't wait. Don't wait. Don't wait. Get your Lyme tap application filled out and turned in. This will steal your life if you let it. Get the better testing. Don't worry about the money. What is money worth when you can't walk?? Nothing. This is an epidemic. Take your health in your own hands. Learn how to be your own advocate. Find a support group in your area to point you in the right direction. Read everything, watch everything. Talk to us here on the forum. Email me personally if you'd like. You aren't crazy. We've all been there. Believe me, you aren't effing crazy. You're sick. And it's not fair. Get to a better doctor!! Don't wait!!!

Our daughter was diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder (Asperger's), Tourette's and ADHD. Her symptoms included:

motor/vocal tics
emotional lability (including rage),
age regressive behaviour,
low level OCD,
urinary frequency,
diminished fine motor ability,
insomnia,
loss of executive function
shin/forearm pain,
cyclic IBS,
foot (sole) pain,
dizziness,
palpitations,
chest pain,
anxiety/panic attacks,
pick-like skull pain,
pain and stiffness at base of skull,
tingling in extremeties,
chills and hot flashes,
extreme fatigue,
nightly fever
light and sound sensitivity

Our Primary Care Physician wanted to prescribe Ritalin for ADHD and clonipin for Tourette's. He suggested the rest of her symptoms were the result of her not wanting to go to school - that all she really needed was a good spanking.

When I declined the prescriptions he told me I was a bad mother. That she wouldn't be able to function without them.

Now 4 years later I wish I had the guts to go back and give him a piece of my mind.

Ignore those who don't want to help you. There is a solution to your puzzle, but you probably won't find it "inside the box" of mainstream medicine.

Detox. Switch to organic foods if you can afford it. Dump you personal care products for organic and chemical free ones. Support your body with healthy, chemical food and products. Do Epsom salt baths, dry brushing, mustard foot soaks... look for help with lyme. If you cant afford it lyme treatment, order lyme books and do a complete herbal protocol from home.

rowingmom - I am in shock about what you said - that your doctor said some of your daughter's symptoms were because she did not want to go to school and that she needed a good spanking! This was outrageous!!

marchcat - I am so sorry you are going through this. It's bad enough you are so sick with all these symptoms and now to be diagnosed with anxiety. It's a story too often told on this forum. We know you are sick and we believe you! Good luck finding another doctor who is Lyme Literate.

Wow! Thank you all for your support and advice. Even I was starting to believe I am crazy for a little while..but I have to pick myself up and tell myself I'm not and these symptoms are not normal. I don't remember a tick bite but I do recall hiking a lot in the past year.
Right now I'm looking for an llmd who takes insurance because they are really hard to find. But I need one desperately. I want my appetite back, and be pain free..not wake up with pain.
Thank you again so much for the support and will take all of you guys advice! Feels good not to be alone..and we could all help each other heal.

Hi Marchcat,

This forum is extremely helpful. Your tests show you do have Lyme, and I'm so glad you found this out sooner than later! I've been searching for the answer to the same symptoms for years and years, with many many doctors dismissing my symptoms. It was actualy someone on this forum that gave me (via private email) the name of an LLMD/infectious disease doctor who does accept insurance in my area. He correctly diagnosed her and healed her completely so I am very hopeful for a positive outcome with him. Please post your location in a thread, let the group know you're looking for a LLMD or LLND in your area, and I'm sure someone can assist you to find a doc to help. Good luck!

Marchcat You are absolutely NOT crazy. Where do you live? Someone on here will help you find an llmd.

Also infectious disease doctors are the most unknowledgable doctors when it comes to Lyme disease.

If I had listened to them I would be suffering more than I am now.

A lot of llmds don't take insurance BUT please remember this is so much more important than money. Your health is everything and Lyme disease WILL NOT go away on its own.

We are all here to support you. Ask anything and I guarantee you someone on here will answer it or try to help you find an answer.

Thank you for your time and for being so helpful.
It's so scary when you feel your health quickly declining and seems like you can't do anything about it because no one will believe you.
This forum has been so good to me and i learn so much from everyone everyday. Truly awesome and a blessing when you feel all alone.
I have also found an llmd. Ill be meeting him next week and am staying hopeful!

Ouch! You saw an infectious disease doctor? Avoid them like the plague (said ironically)! My lawyer knew one who told her he doesn't touch Lyme! Period!

Rowing Mom, I guess that's why I'm so crazy. Yes, I'm an adult, but everyone seems to think I'm a little "off."

It's nuts.
