Starting sulfamethoxaole (bactrim generic)- any tips?

I am supposed to be starting sulfamethoxaole (generic for bactrim). What can I expect? Should I take with food? Can I take it with my doxy and rocephin?
Any info is appreciated!

Have you ever taken a sulfa family abx before? ALOT of people are allergic. can be severe to mild. i have mild where i get red hot ears

you would probably do best if you took it with food. and make sure you don't lay down 1/2 hr after taking it and take it with a full glass of water (same heartburn issues as doxy can occur).

you can try to take it with your other meds, but I always spaced mine out. it was a pain to do that, but I didn't like taking too much at once, because I just didn't feel right.

Yeah, my doc warned me about possibly having an allergic, he said stop if I get a red rash.

There's a warning on it about diarrhea - definitely don't want that!

Bactrim is a good drug. I had no issues and one time combined it with Mepron, Zith, IV Rocephin, and Tindamax. I had it in the protocol to help treat Babs. I took it at same time as my other ABX, sometime with food at dinner or on empty stomach in am
