I have a symphony of sounds constantly in my left ear (not as beautiful as a real orchestra, though).
Lots of different pitches...started with one higher pitch tone that got worse if I took the full dose of Singulair (Asthma drug) and would disappear when I stopped the Singulair. But I needed the drug to breathe before we discovered the cause (mold in my house).
The ringing has only gotten worse for me since it started, because I couldn't stop the Singulair for a couple years after noticing the ringing.
It is only in my left ear. Any ringing stuff I've had in my right ear has been brief, like someone struck a tuning fork, or just a few seconds of some tone or another.
Also, the volume can be painfully piercingly loud, or can be just annoyingly loud. I notice the sound in my ear more when the room is quiet.
My left ear also is much more sensitive to sounds than my right ear. From testing, the left is only 5% different from the right ear, but perceptually, it feels like 50% or more different...
Some sounds are barely audible on my right, but way too loud on the left...
I blame it all on Lyme/coinfections, as tinnitus is not listed as a known side-effect of Singulair and I've not found anyone else who has had this issue from Singulair...perhaps the ringing getting worse when I took more Singulair was coincidence, as my allergy symptoms were also worse then (which may have caused fluid in my ear, which is known to make tinnitus symptoms worse).
