IgeneX Testing...Which One (or Both)?

My doctor runs 2 IgeneX tests...one that is $200 (a blood test) and one that is $400 (a 3 day urine test).

My question is...has anyone ever had the blood test run and had it come back negative but had the urine test be positive? Also, which ones have you had run for your testing?

Here's the situation...I don't have much money for this and I don't want to spend the extra $400 if I don't have to. On the other hand, waiting and doing it later isn't real attractive either (it would really delay the process).

I posted this information previously (in a unrelated post) but I thought it was important enough to post it as it's own topic.

Any comments you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone.

Lyme is a clinical diagnosis (based upon symptoms).

Testing is used to confirm a diagnosis and there are instances in which the patient has Lyme but will even test negative on Igenex tests.

Truly, Lyme is the ONLY disease that can cause non-specific, migrating symptoms.

If that's the case for you, I would hope your doctor will start you on antibiotics now....and then run the less-expensive Igenex test to start.

My LLMD only ran the $200.00 Igenex test (IGG/IGM). He feels that all of the other tests are a waste of money. He ran co-infection tests at Quest/labCorp and MDL. All covered by standard insurance plans. He feels that for co-infections these tests are as accurate or even more accurate than Igenex.

The truth is, either your LLMD beleives you have Lyme or not. The Igenex test is really just a confirmation.

Where is this 200$ test? I just got my packet and the cheapest I see is 285$?

When I took my tests, now over a year ago, it was $100 for IGG and $100 for IGM blood tests.

I have not taken a urine test for lyme or confections.

My ELISA was negative, as most are. But my LLMD brilliantly ignored the two-tiered testing protocol, "provoked" the lyme with olive leaf extract for about a month and had me to an IGeneX IgM/IgG, which came back "CDC-positive", the holy grail. WIthout provocation and a positive result, I might still be battling the insurance company with a lyme diagnosis they question.
