Muscle "jerks"?

Recently I've started experiencing muscle "jerks" (not the same as my twitching or fasiculations), but actual involuntary movements, muscle jerking...

What causes this? It's really freaking me out because I feel so out of control.

Anybody else experienced this?

I had this CON STANT LY… mostly while I'm trying to sleep. I would wake myself up all the time. It was exasperating. It would happen during the day, too but less often.

Once I started taking low dose Naltrexone (often given to MS patients) it nearly stopped. Naltrexone at high doses is given to opiate addictive people to help them come off the drugs but they found at really low doses, it helps the neuropathy of MS. It is not easy to get used to at first but once my body adjusted, it's been really great.

Now, I usually have one body jerk as I'm trying to fall asleep (so weird—why??) but that's it. The LDN also stopped other lesser sx like shuddering and random stabbing pains.

Although I never got these movement during the day, I used to get them violently while falling asleep. Hypnic jerks but without the falling feeling. Through treatment these slowly went away and are now not much more frequent from when I was not infected.

I have these occasionally when trying to go to sleep. It was very bothersome last month when things flared up again. I take melatonin to sleep now so either that has helped or they have just gone away for now.

Pirouette, is LDN often used for Lyme treatment?

Have you tried taking a magnesium supplement? I have read that most people (even healthy ones) are low in magnesium. I get most of my magnesium through the pores of my skin when I take a detox bath (the Epsom salts are magnesium)....
