Actually, moderate alcohol use has been found to lower high fibrinogen levels.... along with enzyme supplements and enzymes from fruits and veggies.
My fibrinogen levels were at 400 (on a scale of 100-500) last year and I was dealing with severe heart palpitations. I upped my fruits and veggies but, continued to have issues with my heart. I had my fibrinogen levels checked again this year and they were at 514 (!!!). So, I'm still doing fruits and veggies plus, I've added an multi-enzyme supplement, and..... I throw a 2 ounce shot of vodka into a glass of orange juice and drink that before bed several times each week.
In the three weeks since I added the vodka to my routine, no more heart palpitations. So, my vote is for anyone with high fibrinogen levels to go ahead and have a drink once in a while. For me personally, I figure it's not going to add much of a problem to the lyme issues that I already have. And it's certainly not any worse than the pharmaceuticals that I'd be allergic to, if I were to take them. :p
