Surprisingly, sugar has been the easiest thing to give up on this new diet, for me. It probably helps that back in the spring, before I got sick, I had already started cutting way back and focusing on natural sugars. That way it wasn't a sudden shock to my system. Right now I'm about 95% sugar free. I never thought I could give up or even cut back on sugar, but once I did it, it's really not so bad, and once I started craving it less and less, I find I don't miss it so much. I am shocked at how a lot of "bad" food just doesn't even look appetizing anymore!
