I think I'm having a kidney stone and may need to go in. I've started to swell and the pain is becoming unbearable. I've had another one that required surgery.. I'm hoping that'd not the case.

Anyway. What is the proper hospital edicate? I should probably tell them all the medicine I'm taking in case they need to go ahead with other medicine or surgery. I don't want to get my doctor in trouble. I don't want to mention Lyme though. How do I get around it? What do I say I'm on antibiotics for?

I understand you not wanting to get your doctor in trouble but they might not ask why you are taking those meds and if they do they probably wont dig deep. Its really the insurance.companies that cause all of the problems for Lyme doctors.

I would make sure you tell them all of your meds so they don't give you something that will interact adversely. Remember your safety is the MOST important thing. We are praying hard for you.

OMG...I hope everything is OK. Let us know what happened.

I personally feel that you should not hold back on telling the ER doc about your Lyme treatment.
The more they hear and are exposed to it, the better for our cause.
Otherwise, if they never hear of anybody with it. The easier it will be for them to keep denying Lyme disease existence in your area.

So sorry for your added troubles, stay strong!

So sorry. Not fun, hope its going well. U r doing nothing wrong by taking meds for lyme....Their lack of knowledge made it that now u need so many. Dr.s need to learn about lyme....how long will they b denying it for? By now, they should all know controversy exist...and lyme is possible. I say...say! U dont have to mention the dr.s name who did the prescribing.

Also...in case they want to give u a steroid (which i dont think they will for a kidney stone....if thats whats going on)...but incase u want to know, as u r in the acute setting, some say steroids shouldnt b given to lyme patients due to immunosuppression. Ask what meds u r getting.

Just now read this, IHL - I hope that things are going okay, what ever is happening for you!! Please do let us know how you are as soon as you are up to it!! You can see that many here are quite worried!!

I would second the suggestion of making sure you find out all the meds you are/were given. If you are reading this after getting released, you have a right to those records and can get a copy of them sent to a doctor if necessary.

I made it through the night. I just emailed my LLND. I think I might have to go later. I called and asked my mother in law if she could hang out with my son. I took 2 tramadols and got comfortable enough to get some sleep. But the pain is still here :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I was hoping that I would wake up and it would be gone. But it's not. It's not near as intense, but it is coming in waves.. We'll see what happens.

I feel so loved :) Thank you guys

I think I'm actually going to be OK. I just walked around a bit outside and the pain didn't drop me... so maybe I'm good and don't have to go anywhere. Maybe if it's a stone it will pass on it's own. Weird. I thought for a second there I was for sure going to be screwed! Glad I toughed it out and stayed home, for now!

For sure.... It's getting better than worse over and over and over. And now I cant pee. So I'm pretty sure it is a stone. I need to get in the shower just in case I do end up going. I haven't brushed my hair in a few days hahaha.

I don't know what to dooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you are planning ahead. I do hope if it is a stone it passes on its own quickly and you can get past it. You do not need this complication!

Have you heard back from your LLND? What did they say?

I hope that you get this resolved at home too, but don't wait to go to the hospital if you think you need to!! I've heard that kidney stones can be sooo painful!!!

I haven't heard back. And ya they make you feel like you are in labor coming in waves of intense pain but you don't get a baby out of it!!

I don't think I'm going to have to go in I feel much much better :)

I'm sore but making Christmas cookies with my son anyway! I can tough it out it doesn't hurt bad at all anymore yay! I can do this this kidney stone picked the wrong kidney!!
