Have you noticed spotting or getting your period while on high dosage abx? Im on 2,400 mg daily and it finally happened to me, although I'm assuming it's abx related?

I started the higher dose this month and have been on Seasonale for years but never had this issue. I only get my period once every three months as a result, until now

I do have some random spotting. But, since starting herbs and abx I'm also experiencing a few more "healthy" cycle patterns as well (longer cycles, bright red vs. darker/thicker period flow, very obvious "healthy" fertile discharge during ovulation—which I hadn't had for a couple of years and I'm 46). Go figure.

But I think there is absolutely a correlation for some of us with changes in our cycles and the lyme & confections and/or treatment. Also, for me, I think the methylation support I'm taking for my MTHFR mutations (which can affect fertility and miscarriages) might also be supporting a healthier cycle.

Isn't the human body fascinating?

Many antibiotics interact with birth control and other hormone products. Be sure to find out about your specific meds by having a conversation with your pharmacist.

Yes Razzle—that is certainly true.
No birth control for me—so it's clearly the impact of herbs and abx and other treatment protocol.
And probably the reduction in stress since I am no longer working at the insane asylum.

Are you on any sort of Birth Control? The pharmacy man told me some antibiotics can make you do that becuase they mess with your BC.

woooahhh…. more PMS symptoms that I usually don't have—cramping before I even start. Cramping for 3 days—instead of only the first day. I've read cramping is a sign of labored menses—likely yet another need to increase detoxing… foot soaks aren't cutting it anymore. oh the huge manatee and the pressure to take baths. Will someone please come clean my bathtub a couple times? My neuroses is back.

I have way more pms and cramping well ahead of time also...never used to have this problem. My cycle has become incredibly short -- 2-3 days max. :/

I'm with -P on this one. My period TOTALLY changed after lyme treatment. I would get really nasty blood/heavy short cycles and then after lyme treatment they were spotty and regular days but more like what a cycle should be.

Apparently it really restored everything because I got pregnant 6 months after finishing treatment while still using contraception...(no BC though, never did BC)

OUTSTANDING (I hope)… awesome for you! now that is what I like to hear… I may be enormously delusional but I have to maintain hope that my .000003% chance of having a family when all this is done is still alive. ;) Although I may have to settle for just being capable of taking care of my plants again.

anyway, sorry you both have strange cycles, too. It's like instead of having a week out of the month where your cycle kind of takes over your body—it's two or three weeks if you count ovulation. That's half our lives between the teen years and well into our twilight years as we enter into menopause changes. Heh—lyme ain't got nuthin on the female plumbing… !

I do find it all fascinating.

Growing up with Lyme really messed up all of my female times - everything was hard to get through - periods, pregnancies and labor and delivery too. It didn't miss a thing!

LOL! Why I still clean toilets, why not bathtubs??? Giggle!!!

But all in all, yes, I have had a decent life and a good life now and that's what's important!! Grandbabies are on their way (their Mom is bringing them) for a couple of days!!! I'll be exhausted by tomorrow!! LOL!
