Anyone experience any bladder burning/ interstitial cystitis like pain with lyme or coinf? I feel like the brunt of my infections have started in the bladder/pelvic area

Oh I feel ya!!!!! I can pee 60 times a day. I'm in near constant pain. It's just awful. I've tried most everything from elmiron to narcotic pain medication. Nothing has helped very much. I've had times where when I pee it looks like there is pepper in the toilet. I'm guessing it's old blood. I figure when I'm farther along in treatment it will clear up. I've had this issue since I was 19 and I'm almost 26 now.

IHL, do you have co infections? Do you find that it's worse at certain times of the day? I find that mine is more painful in the evening. Tremors are the worst then as well as the am when I get up

Lately it's been bad for 24 hours. All day. Everyday. It's awful. But my urologist said that chlamydia pnuemoniae is notorious for causing bladder issues. I also tested positive for mycoplasma and bartonella. Maybe some mold and virus too.

This was one of my first symptoms - always felt like I had to go and my bladder felt inflamed. Went to so many different docs about it but didn't really clear up until I was diagnosed with Lyme and started treatment. Took several months, but it's gone (I hope!!) for now.
Wish some of my other stuff would go away too... :-)

:( feeling sad for you Pmgonza ...I have had bladder issues/pain/abdominal pain since my lyme began Oct 2011. The symptoms come and go, and when it flares up, I usually have to take Ibuprofen and a Tramadol to help make the pain manageable. Bladder issues most certainly can be caused by lyme and co-infections like Bart. In my first year with lyme, I made the mistake of listening to my (wanna-be "lyme" doc) when he was clueless about what was going on with my symptoms, and said "lyme & co would not cause bladder issues...you should see a urologist"....BAD idea! The urologist was (also) clueless about how lyme can affect the bladder...suffice it to say that I had to endure a very painful medical procedure to have him say "yes, there is inflammation in your bladder, but we don't know what is causing it, and it should go away eventually". Really?! Yes, really! So, DO NOT consult with specialists! Stick with GOOD LLMDs (which thankfully I now have a very good LLMD)! My flare-ups are now less frequent, and when they happen, I just manage the pain, increase my water intake, get more rest, and focus on eating well/non-inflammatory foods....

I hope this helps a bit...sorry for your suffering, and I really do know what that feels like....it is awful. :( Hope you will be feeling better very soon. As your body gets stronger with treatment, those symptoms should start to become less frequent.

I know exactly what kind of procedure you are talking about because I had a cystoscopy done too! It sucks! Except at least your doc acknowledged that you had inflammation- mins says, look your bladder looks perfect! Meanwhile, I'm peeing all night long and in constant pain (not at the moment thank goodness!).
My ob says today that he thinks it's urethritis! Ha! So he wants to try azithromycin for ten days. I'm not turning away any antibiotics at this point I'll tell you that much

When im on azithromycin and septra my bladder issues seem to resolve
