Michigan LLMD Dr. M in Keego

So I'm wondering if anybody in Michigan has seen Dr. M in Keego? Hes also an infectious disease doctor so he takes insurance. But I've seen people say LLMD who are also ID drs aren't as good. It would be best financially to see him

The reason I ask, I had previously did a ILADS search in Michigan for a LLMD.
I was actually checking to see if the Doctor that was already treating me landed on that list.
(He did).

In fact only 3 doctors came up in the lower Michigan area.
There was no "Dr M" on the LLMD list.

Hopefully I did not misunderstand your statement. It sounded like You said that Dr. M is a LLMD and a ID doctor.

I am currently seeing Dr. M. I don't think he is a LLMD but he does treat Lyme patients. I am in the midst of figuring things out with him so I don't know yet what the final outcome is. However he has begun to treat me for Lyme, slowly. Of course I want to blaze through it but he has a plan and I need to be patient.

I did not have a Lyme diagnosis before seeing him so we had to work on that first which meant a lot of tests. With my age and past medical history, he wanted to rule out other things as well which I think is wise and I support.

I figured I'd start with him...He is close to me and takes insurance. If it doesn't work out, I'll move on. He seems like good guy who wants to figure out what's going on with me. I need to let the process work. He knows something is going on with me. If it was that simple, I would have been diagnosed years ago by one of the other 8+ doctors I saw. I think in the end, he'll be able to help.

I know another member on the forum is currently being treated by him as well.

I am hesitant to give a full recommendation because I still haven't had the outcome I'm looking for but I firmly believe I am finally on the right path.

Im from Michigan... I should check into him, not many in michigan and i need someone to take insurance

One question: Did you guys get bit in Michigan? I think I got bit at coldwater lake, people think im crazy and tell me theres no ticks in Michigan, which obviously, THERE ARE TICKS! Anyways just curious... dont hear many lyme stories in Michigan

I'm not sure when I was bit but it would have to be in Michigan...I've lived here my whole life. I don't understand why Michigan wouldn't be considered. We have a huge deer population and I think there's plenty of ticks on deer...isn't there?

I agree! I was def. Bitten here, havent traveled outof state in years! And there are tons of deer here

I am currently seeing Dr. M in Keego. During my initial visit w/him back in November, he didn't actually think I had Lyme based on my symptoms. However, I had already sent my blood work to IGeneX prior to that appointment and thankfully it came back positive. So, he started treating me with abx. I have another follow up call w/him this week and am curious to learn what his plan is for me. Like KK said, he's slower (and not the best at communicating) with his treatment plans than we would all like. I am also on the waiting list for a Dr. L in Saginaw. My appt is in Feb. I haven't canceled that one yet just in case I feel that Dr. M isn't fully engaged in my treatment. I've heard great things about Dr. L.

BTW, my tick bite occurred while I was living in Asheville, NC.
