I just wanted to share-I did my first infrared sauna yesterday since having lyme and I loved it. It felt so good on so many levels. First, it felt amazing for detox. I literally felt the toxins pouring out of me. Second, it was great to raise my generally low body temperature up for obvious reasons such as fighting infections. And third, it felt so relaxing. Since I have lyme anxiety issues, I noticed that when I was sweating in there I felt really relaxed in a way I haven't in while. I am going to keep up with the saunas!! I drank electrolyte water before going in, and water while I was in there. It was invigorating. I highly recommend it to add to anyone's lyme treatment protocol.

Happy that the sauna is working out so well for you!!!

I read on another thread that you opted for a portable one.....and I think I remember you mentioning that you'd like to find one that can be easily disassembled and stored.

Did you go that route? I'd like to try one but don't have the space to keep it set up. I am not interested in using a "public" one.

That's great. i heard they are great, but I'm still looking for an affordable place to go. How long were you in there for? Were you herxing before you went ?

what kind of sauna did you get? Is it portable? What is the EMF levels?
I'm looking to get one too, but trying to find one with all my needs. Please share more info.

There;s all sorts of different kinds and different prices. Just look around online, check out amazon and other places-- see what you can find. There is a whole array of them and I can't really tell others which one is right for them.
I know for those who can spend the really big money the thermal life ones are supposed to be top of the line- not portable- they don't list prices on their site but I found a site that said somewhere around 3000 dollars.

I think there are other wood ones in the 1000 or so range but I am not sure which ones are good. I know it is important to not get the toxic glues and stuff, so I read.
Then on amazon there are some portable ones as cheap as 200 dollars, but I am not sure of their quality.


I found a youtube video of a guy showing the therasage one- which is a portable one for 600 dollars, as having very low emfs- he had an emf meter.

This is more expensive than the 200 dollar ones clearly, but has a good reputation when I looked it up. It is also advertised as having very low emf;s . I also spoke at length with a person at therasage and he answered all my questions.

Also someone told me there are some on ebay for less money - so I would say just do research around online to see which one works for your budget and your needs.

I got the therasage and love it so far. I have 60 days to try it out with a full money back thing, so I am just still checking it out.

I have a sunlighten solo sauna. I did a bunch of research and it seemed right in that there's almost no bad emissions and made specifically for illnesses such as lyme. It kaliedascopes together and I drape a scarf over it and it looks like a little table/perch in my bathroom. I have a tiny living space but I've got it to truly pass as a piece of furniture when I'm not using it. It was 2000, a complete splurge for me, but it's one of the main things that helps me, I use it a few times a week.

still loving having a sauna--- amazing. feeling mixed about the therasage-- it is good for the cost, not as luxurious as a thermal life or something. I don't know if I am keen on the head sticking out as my head doesn't sweat much that way. A few other things- just basically the nature of the portable plastic kind is not as nice as the more stable larger wood kind, but those are much more expensive.So, still considering if I will hold on to it or try to get another kind. Kind of has a plastic smell too- could be okay if we pack it up (it is designed to fold away easily) rather than leaving it up. Still, enjoying my sweats none the less.

Edited to add- wow, just took my evening temp. It is about 4 hours since I got out of the sauna, and my temp is a full degree higher than the evening temps I had before starting the saunas 5 days ago. Yesterday it was .5 degrees higher than the pre sauna evenings, and today it was almost normal temp-- 98.3 and that is 4 hours after getting out! That is kind of exciting. Like I said, the therasage is not ideal in luxury, but it does seem to do a good job at giving me a good sweat and raising my temp. And like I said in another post, when I take my temp in the morning, after having done the sauna the evening before, it is .5 degrees higher than the mornings before I started the saunas. I am liking this result.

Sounds too good to be true.

Does anyone have this sauna, or another portable FIR - with a trifield meter? Curious what the EMF/EMRs reading is.

Looking into purchasing one - think it's necessary for my health - although I don't know how I'll afford any.

One thing about the portable sauna is I realize I am literally breathing in plastic as I sit! My head is out, but the infrared is penetrating everything including the plastic and I am just sitting there breathing it in. So due to that and a few other things, thinking of returning it and trying to get a wood one.
