CoQ10 with Mepron

My Lyme Dr. directed me to take both CoQ10 and Mepron (among a bunch of other things) - but I've seen a lot of literature indicating that you shouldn't take CoQ10 at the same time as Mepron. Does anyone have any insights on this?

Apparently the CoQ10 acts as an antagonist to the Mepron. Heather took Mepron for 5.5 months and was told not to take CoQ10. We only started supplementing with the CoQ10 AFTER she was finished with the Mepron.

Your physician may feel that its ok to take CoQ10 while using Mepron if you seperate the ingestion of the 2 substances by a few hours. I have no idea as to which approach is best. Here is a link from a well known LLMD that says that it's better not to take CoQ10 at all when using Mepron.

heathersdad explained it appropriately. As a pharmacist, I would not recommend taking the two together at all - sorry!! your research is correct.

I emailed my Lyme Dr. about this issue, and interestingly, he said said he was aware of the debate but still wants me to take it. Unfortunately, I got the message second hand through his receptionist, so I didn't get any details as to the why in view of the general advice not to.
