LOW CD57 levels in 2 year old with ASD

My son who I suspect has Lyme showed a 72 on his labcorp cd57. Igenex blood test western blot doesn't come back for 3 weeks. This will be the longest three weeks of my life. He has so many symptoms and so do I and my mother.

I haven't been tested yet but I will if he has any positive bands. I've heard that cd57 isn't reliable in children. Anyone here have a child as young as mine with a low CD57 that ended up positive for lyme?? My cousins son has ASD too and I think he may have Lyme. Please share your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

Many here use Buhner's protocol for Lyme and co-infections. You can find it here: http://www.buhnerhealinglyme.com/the-protocols/

You can use some of the herbs until you get the tests. The herbs are strong and is best to start slowly IF he has symptoms. I don't know if the cd57 is indicative of Lyme only or it may be something else. My daughter is 5 and she was bit by a tick. She has a rash and the pediatrician tested her for Lyme. Test came negative and he refuses to treat her, although she developed symptoms. I hope you have a better dr than us! I am giving her propolis which helps a lot, along with a probiotic because she developed stomach problems, I suspect because of Lyme or Bartonella.

Please read the "new to lyme" as it has a lot of info that will guide you.

Also, if the test is negative but your son has symptoms, make sure you take him to see a LLMD who knows how to treat lyme and co-infections.

I ordered some herbs and I am waiting for them to come and use them until I get to a LLMD. A negative test does not mean he doesn't have Lyme. I've had 3+ tests and 2- tests myself. It is complicated--tests are not accurate and many people test negative even if they are infected.

You can also start a new thread with "llmd needed in----" and you will be helped to find a dr. in your area, in case you need one.

Thank you for your response! My situation isn't that cut and dry. My son never had the typical bite or rash thing. I believe his lyme is congenital. He was born with low tone and has had development problems from infancy. There is a new paradigm on the horizon that's sure enough to shock the world as its becomes known. IT'S NOW BELIEVED BY THE BEST OF THE BEST IN LYME DISEASE THAT 80 TO 100 PERCENT OF CHILDREN WITH ASD HAVE LYME.

My son's neurological issues is what has led me to suspect Lyme. I'm just so anxious for the results. I just pray to God his neurological issues can be repaired by treatment so I can save my son. Thanks for the well wishes. I have a mentor through TACA who will assist me in finding an LLMD if he tests positive but will definitely ask here too!

hi, CD57 represents the level of natural killer cells, I believe? and Lyme is known to destroy those cells, so when you have a low number, it MAY be indicative of lyme, but it is not the only marker, obviously.

My LLMD said it is not very reliable - when I got better, my level dropped, so it didn't make any sense.

what other tests did your little one have? you said on another thread that the lyme test came out positive??

please share more info, I would like to help as much as I can!
