This is such a conflicting and stressful situation for you. I am so sorry to hear that he is being so closed minded, especially since he is a medical professional and he has the potential to provide so much more insight into the pathophysiology and be such a comfort. MD's and DO's are not taught to question the "authorities" like the IDSA and the CDC. I don't want to say that they are brainwashed, but doc's have to learn so much that it is almost too much effort to go through the ridiculous amount of basic science research to question the guidelines. That being said, you definitely should try to seek out a support group locally or use the forum in the meantime. Hopefully as time goes on, he will open his heart and his mind to this situation. Good luck@
I think it has more to do with the husband being insecure about
the attention hes getting for being "medical professional" shift to his wife who is sick, and will obviously need a supporting person, therby giving her more attention than he is.
