Dr. K uses abx also, but only for 4-6 weeks. Yes, I do plan to go on herbals with my children once we have a clear picture of their co-infections. I am going to start with my former LLMD just for testing and for a first opinion, since I trust him and he is located closer to me. My LLMD only does abx, so eventually I will transition to someone else. He diagnosed me clinically with Barto although I tested negative. Many people are not treated by their LLMDs for co-infections or they are treated much later when they don't improve. Rowingmom had this kind of experience where she discovered her daughter had co-infections before her LLMD did, so getting a clear diagnoses on the co-infections is VERY important, but not always easy even for the LLMDs. This is why I think seeking multiple opinions is not a bad thing.
I'd love to go to Dr. K, but at this point, with (very likely) 4 of us infected, it is not doable. He would be our last resort, but none of us are dealing with autism, so our situation is very different. The herbals he is using are also v. expensive, so would likely have to spend $1000 or more per month just for the herbal meds. For me, other less expensive ways did work, so I am exploring those first, although if he was closer to me (I am in PA), he would have been my first pick.
