Dr. Murakami - healing properties of cannabis

Dr. Murakami is a retired LLMD living in BC, Canada - he was treating patients with long-term abx and was constantly being investigated, threatened to have his licensed removed. He eventually retired. But he is actively fighting for change.
He is in an educator role now.

Another forum member posted he had a facebook page, which I have now looked at. Lots of good information on it, including cannabis being used not only for symptomatic relief for Lyme patients, but also for healing.


An interesting fact: Canada has the highest reported cases of MS : 240-340/100,000...and the lowest lyme disease cases: 01/100,000.

Dr. Murakami is very compassionate man. When I was undiagnosed...and wondering about Lyme disease, I called him. He answered the phone and asked if he could call me back in the evening. That evening he talked to me for about half an hour. He listened to my symptom list and said I needed to get an Igenex test done. He also asked me then if my Dr. would support me using medical marijuana.
Wow - just took my phone call...and offered advice. (for free)

I spent hours in Emergency last Sunday night with the hugest herx EVER! I had seizures for 5 hours straight. I had no control of my face and entire body. I looked like a fish outta water literally! It didn't hurt and I was able to hear people. When someone asked me a question I was able to answer them. The nurses treated me and my fiancé like we were not worth their time. They never did blood tests or anything! Only a urine test to see if I was on drugs! (I was taking High CBD OIL bought from the very place that DR. MURAKAMI does presentations on this oil.) But that didn’t show up because of the low THC level.

MY llnd was horrified to hear how I was treated at the hospital!! So in short... there you have it. Western docs in B.C. are so far behind in lyme disease it's incredibly SHAMEFUL!

Girlie, I think you can get a card and buy it right in Vancouver! Vancouver is the only city I think in all of Canada that allows medical marijuana dispensaries. They view it as a way of "harm reduction". The rest of canadians have to get the $400.00 medical marijuana card and have their cannabis mail ordered. It's a strange system set up by our conservative government, I really hope canada goes liberal next to change this. But you can go here if you are interested. cannabis might soon be a goto natural remedy for lyme as it is showing promise to actually kill spirochetes all while relieving inflammation and reducing herxs. It's also far less toxic (well not toxic at all really to the human body), so it's easier to take long term.

You can get the higher CBD strains if they offer them. They will still get you slightly "high" as there is some THC in them, but not nearly as high as the CBD balances it out. Both THC and CBD have the antibacterial properties though. You don't have to roll doobies, you can use a vaporizer, make oil like tinctures, or edibles?

I'm pretty sure it is the bud form. The mail order thing is flowers only... No resins, concentrates, or oils currently allowed. But I suppose you can make your own.

Yes I saw his page awhile ago! They are doing studies now... I think it is Dr.Sapi.

Actually there is a woman who uses just cannabis oil and put her lyme into complete remission using just that. I think that is what sparked the interest which is now in the process of scientific studies. Her book comes out... By Shelly White. You can view her video on YouTube. She did Abx, then herbals, and now just cannabis. She claims she beat it completely with the cannabis... Including her bartonella and babesia.

I read somewhere that a colleague of his participated in a study on alzheimers patients and lyme. They were able to grow live Bb spirochetes from the brain biopsies of post-mortem alzheimer patients.

I have been using cannabis made into a butter for 7 months. I cook it in a slow cooker for 12 hours with coconut oil and I take 1/8 tsp at breakfast and dinner and 1/4 before bed. It is such a small amount that I don't get high from it. I have improved 80-85%. I no longer feel full of inflammation. I was able to work a full week last week without needing a nap as soon as I came in the door. I went on a cruise a few weeks ago and even drank wine every day.

I was spending about $1000 a month doing Cowden and other supplements. Now I use cannabutter which costs about $50 a month and I only take a couple supplements with it. This was the comment from another lady from the support group who is now using it, "“I've only been on it for 5-6 weeks and I feel about 80-90% better than I did a few months ago.”

I feel that it has given me my life back.

The one thing I would recommend, especially if you are using it for pain, is decarboxylating your raw material. I have been really researching this and I will definitely decarb my next batch. Just break up the bud, place on a cookie sheet, and put in oven at 220 F for 20-30 min. This will make it much more potent for pain killing. Then put in crockpot for 12 hours on low. (I grind it in a magic bullet before I put it in the crock pot.) Strain it with cheesecloth when it is done cooking. I freeze it and keep a small amount in the fridge.

FYI I make mine in the garage since the smell is very strong.

Start out very slow. I take 1/8 tsp in the morning, supper time and I take 1/4 before bed. It will last 4-5 months, depending on how much you use. People on the facebook site are all using different amounts.
I use an ounce of cannabis and ½ liter of coconut oil (2 cups). I freeze it and take out a small amount to keep in the fridge.


I do have a prescription for medical marijuana but the Health Canada sites couldn't keep up with the demand, so I got my first two ounces from a compassion club. It will make you herx but it is much gentler than an antiobiotic herx. I ended up in the ER when I tried antibiotics. You need to work up slowly. I started with about 1/16 of a tsp. Cannabis is a natural antibiotic, antifungal and antibacterial. Let me know if you need any further info. I highly recommend trying it.

I've talked with other people on the facebook site to try to determine how much to take. Everyone is very different. It's really a matter of trial and error.

I went to my doctor and got a prescription. People on the forum say you need both THC and CBD and other chemicals found in cannabis. Hemp and Nabilone are not the same. I think Nabilone is only for pain. I watched a documentary on cannabis in BC and you just go into a shop in Vancouver and a doctor/naturopath will skype with you and give you a prescription. It seems very easy in BC to get it. It said there are more cannabis shops than coffee shops. I was a novice too but once I started researching about it, I knew I had to give it a try.
