How many of you have a spouse with Lyme too?

This is a huge debate in the Lyme community. Some say families practice the same habits as Lymes suffers and contract it through similar methods, others insist on sexual transmission. My spouse suffers similar symptoms but they are not as severe. He was not even in the same region as me when I was infected so I question the similar habits theory. But the more I learn about spirochetes and other parasitic organisms the more I question the theory that all of us suffer from parasites, blood born or other methods of infection, and or similar medical conditions. And because Lyme is "the great imitator" we have no way of narrowing these theories until better testing is available.

My husband starting showing signs about 7 yrs after me, we tested positive for the same bands with the exception that he has one more than me. he took some Samento before he was tested to see if he would herx and sure enough he did.

Yes, my wife is infected. My observation of her infection is that her symptoms are not as severe as mine nor is she being impacted in as many parts of the body as I did.

My theory is that because I was bitten, I was directly infected with multiple vectors (Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, mycoplasma) and this worsened my existing infections (Epson-Stein Virus and Cytomegalovirus) whereas she got infected from me so I did not pass all the infections to her, just those that are transferred via bodily fluids.

By the way, she has become symptomatic two and a half years after I was first infected.

My husband and I got sick about the same time. Though we were both very outdoorsy. Now not so much, I'm not sure if it was sexually transmitted or if we just happened to be camped in a tick hotbed.
