I've had a raging headache for the last week or so. So bad it's made me incredibly nauseous. It's even there in my sleep waking me up at night. Pain meds can't touch it. In the morning it's gone and creeps back after about
an hour of being awake. It throbs harder and harder until I take a nap mid-day. Then I feel groggy and sick all afternoon, the feeling I always get when I sleep too long. And the headache creeps back after the nap...absolute misery.
It's gone away a couple of times in the last week--only temporarily when I took a couple of walks or tiny-mini-jogs on the beach or for a brief 2 hours when I took an Aleve. Then it came raging back even worse. Today it got so bad I thought my head or front of my face would actually explode and I wanted to vomit. I took a long nap in the car. Then I took a long walk on the beach, then a slow mini-jog that felt amazing. I didn't think I could do it but I did a third-mile in the sand. My head was not throbbing.
After the jog I had only a tiny headache and a HUGE craving for a banana. I HATE hate HATE bananas because when we were kids our parents would say, "Oh, you're hungry? Go outside and pick a banana!" I ate so many as a kid they make me ill now--the smell, taste, texture, everything! Eeeeeeewww!
Well, today I craved it. I bought & ate a banana right away and the headache was gone completely within minutes. It's been 6 hours and it hasn't returned.
I take daily vitamins that have potassium. Is the food-based kind that much more potent? Anyone else have this headache-cure with bananas?
