Calilyme and Dtav - thank you! I have two problems - I have kids who love cookies and icecream, and I am not going to deprive them of it, so I buy it - but then I can't resist!!! AHHHHH. It is SO HARD
Secondly, I am ready to have lots of willpower, but I barely even have time to cook up some dinner - its a time factor thing. It takes a lot of work to go on a special diet and plan out your meals. I just barely make it planning my kids lunches for school - that is hard enough!
I will figure something out, I may have to just bite the bullet and try the 21 day cleanse thing. Dtav - I am sure you must feel so great with that diet. It is my goal but it wont be easily reached. I cheated when I was treating lyme too. I was super thin because I lost so much weight, and although I was careful, I wasn't an angel, and it didn't seem to make much of a difference.
In the meantime, this is what my Dr wrote as a response -
I agree that Candida or a type of yeast could be an issue, particularly because you have a hard time staying away from dairy and sugar, the cravings are strong. We can try nystatin, that's not a problem, but you will have to plan to stay off sugar/dairy for at least a week. Once you are off it for a week, then the yeast calms down and the cravings go away! I wouldn't take the nystatin if you are still eating this foods.
With regards to the herx like reactions when taking nutritionals - There are a couple of options: either you are not detoxifying well and any additional supplement causes more toxicity. Or you are on a "fight or flight' adrenal response and reacting in general to any extra nutrient. This second scenario would also cause inability to lose weight, due to excessive cortisol. I agree with your trainer that too much exercise can cause excessive stress in your system, and more cortisol production, hence no weight loss and sore muscles.
she referred me to a chiropractor for my shoulder - nah, I am going to wait it out. since I "broke in" my muscles from exercise, it has been feeling better. I think I just have to work my way thru it!!
