I have been having IV rocephin now for 7 weeks and I am doing so much better(35-40%) with many symptoms going away. Wow!
My question is why would my insurance company now cover a 2nd month of IV tx when they initially said it would be for just 1 month?
Any ideas, I am just very curious............

Hi sueg!
I'm getting ready to start IV rocephin. It's great to read that it is really helping you! I was wondering if you could share more of your story?
How long have you had untreated Lyme?
Was your test positive?
What were your worst symptoms?
Which symptoms are improved?
Any other meds that you're on?
Coinfections?
I've been treating for 6 months with orals with no improvement.
Super good news that your ins is picking up the tab for the second month! Congrats!

I am happy to hear you are seeing improvements. I also live in SE Wisconsin and have been seeing Dr. M in Waukesha for a year. Would you be able to message me about
who you see? Thanks.

Bugsy, I could not find your email address but I also see Dr M at Serenity Clinic. I was seeing her associate but he only prescribed orals for a year with no success so I changed to Dr M at the same clinic and she ordered a picc line and IV meds right away and I still do oral meds also.
And Utah--I will send you an email since there is too small a space here for answers!

Congrats, Sueg!!!
Didn't you have to petition the insurance company to try to get them to continue the IV treatments? Or maybe your doc did? The insurance companies don't just change their mind, you have to convince them.

Thank you for your reply. I would appreciate if we could have a quick chat on email about
your experience with Dr. M at Serenity, especially about
IV antibiotics. I have enabled my email address. I hope you can enjoy the weekend, it feels a bit more spring like every day!

I did nothing at all. The Infusion company pharmacist said that he always bills the insurance regardless of what the patients are told.
And I don't want to look a gift horse...... But I was curious how this works?
I don't know if my LLMD had anything to do with it. I did ask him to request extended coverage for me. But he didn't say he would do that right away. Would he have any power to sway the
insurance companies?
And Bugsy, I will email you later about
Dr M
