Hey everyone!
Has anyone used an infrared sauna as part of their detox? My llmd told me today that it is highly effective and better than steamrooms and sauna. While I could use a steamroom or sauna I have used a portable sauna before and you sweat like craaaaazyyyy! The problem is the infrared sauna he recommend is 1,000 dollars!!!! Does anyone think it's worth it?

I can afford it. I've just been spending so much money out of pocket on doctors the last year it's insane. And my obsession with looking good in clothing doesn't help. I guess I should get it and cut back on other expenses. Thanks jimbo!

I would also think it would be something you could continue to use well after your symptoms subside. At least I would.

I bought a great 3 person sauna at costco and love it. Best money I've spent so far. Get it!

There are some that cost more! I think they're worth the cost, but I can't use them since I don't sweat very easily. I bought one before I knew it wouldn't work for me.

Some cheaper saunas have some toxins from the materials used, so you need to check for that so you don't develop problems from it.

I have been using one consistently 2-3 times a week since the end of Jan. There are a few places in my area that offer IR sauna use for anywhere between $14 and $35 a session. The $14 a session is the price if you purchase a package of 12 up front. I could really tell a difference in how I felt afterwards after about 8-10 sessions.

You could just Google "infared sauna" in your area and see what comes up. Or other places to check are spas, gyms, and holistic practitioners.

I would love to own one but my husband says "he can't cost justify it" even though we can afford it. I personally can't put a price on health and well being but apparently he can. But that's a whole can of worms that is for another time and place!

GP is right though, if you are going to purchase, do your homework on the toxin used like adhesives, plastics, and wood that has resin. Some of the big name brands claim they are toxin free but they are not, and they are assembled and shipped out of China. No need to trade one toxin for another if you can avoid it!

Awesome! Thanks so much guys! Do you think it's cost justified if I bought one? It is a LOT of money for steam...when I can go to the gym and sit in a steam room...but is it as effective? Do you have a particular brand of IR saunas that are really toxic free?

Yes, FIR saunas are better than steam in terms of killing off the bacteria. I just bought one myself. It's supposed to be toxic free and it was around $600.

I'm hoping it will help me finish my treatment off. And I'll continue to use it afterwards to make sure I don't relapse.

So far, I have only stayed in for 15 minutes at a moderate heat. And I have had mild herx reactions each time. So I would say it works!

No, Simela! It's a portable model, small, about a 4 foot cube. You sit in on a chair, zip it up and feel totally ridiculous. But it works!

Lol thanks, glad that it works! I'll have to run this by hubby. Problem is he always wants the biggest and best, so I'm afraid he will buy one for tens of thousands of dollars if I give him any ideas. That would not be a big deal if we were rich. $600 is not too bad and it may lower treatment length plus is good to have for the rest of our lives, so I think is a good investment.

Achieving- is this totally worth me spending the 600-1000 dollars on!? I sat in one before and felt TOTALLY ridiculous but it felt great. Which brand do you use? My LLMD suggested Relax Sauna.

I bought this one. Not saying it is the best, it fit my parameters. That is to say, withing a budget and non toxic.

You could use the search function on the HealingWell site. There was a woman who described how she built her own for a very reasonable price.
