Looking for the right doc (LLMD near Pensacola, FL)

My husband had them done recently. I was told 10 to 12 business days. It turns out to be about 3 weeks total.

You can order the test kit from the website. When you get it, take the requistion to a Dr. - any Dr. can sign it. Do you have walk-in clinics in the U.S.? If your PCP won't sign it, just go to another Dr.
A ND signed mine. I think even chiropractors can sign....
Then you take it to a lab and have the blood draw. The lab I took it to had done them before, and knew exactly what to do with all the forms. They contacted Fedex to have it shipped.

If you're wanting the Western Blot - I think it's #188 and 189 on the form - look for the Western Blot IgG and IgM test - approx. $200 total plus the Fedex charge. (I also paid a lab fee for the draw)

Yes, I would recommend the Western Blot. But, I didn't have a lot of money to spend...so you could add more on, if you want to spend more.
But, if all you want to pay is a couple hundred one, that is the one i would choose.

It may not be positive even if you have Lyme disease. But, even if not Igenex or CDC Positive, it will often show some positive bands.

I got some old medical records from a year ago and got results from an old Lyme disease test from an ER visit 1 year ago when my symptoms started to occur. The result came back <=0.90 negative through quest. I am not sure if that is accurate but I finally got an appt with a LLMD on May 12th. The lady said from my symptoms it sounds like I may b infected. She said the doctor will test for other parasites and bacteria as well. I am glad I was able to get in so soon and hope to get some answers soon!

I went to my Infectious disease appt today. That was a joke. He said cause I only tested positive for 1 out if 10 that there is no way I have Lyme and for me to have my primary figure out what's wrong with me. That's the whole reason I am here dummy! She is shoving xanax down my throat and those hardly calm my symptoms down... I still have appt with LLMD in Mobile AL next week on the 12th. Maybe he will have some answers... If not maybe I am having constant anxiety 24/7 but I am not buying that. I went from being a normal guy to all of the sudden no warning bam! Everyday for 13 months now have been horrible. I will keep everyone updated with my LLMD visit next week

I finally saw the LLMD today! Just from my past blood work and symptoms, and CT scans was enough for him to diagnose me with Neurological Lyme Disease. I have already started antibiotic treatment today. He also ordered several labs as well to possibly give me a further diagnosis as well. I am glad I found this site and got support and advice! After 13 months I feel so much better already knowing that I finally at least have a diagnosis and treatment has started! :))

That's good news - that you finally have been diagnosed and have already started your antibiotic treatment.

The LLMD I am seeing would prefer for me to do my labs through Labcorp but he said if my insurance won't cover it and I don't wanna spend a ton of money then he have me a lab order for Quest. He said he prefers Labcorp that he will get a better reading than Quest. I gonna go see how much it is gonna cost today and go from there. If I have to come out of pocket and not thousands of dollars I would rather get the best reading for him. He is not going to retest me on the western blot just because I was positive for the 23KD (igg) only. He said there is no point. That is a specific strain of Lyme and no reason to retest. I will still keep posted and keep everyone posted on progress. I will also do what I can to help others who are new to the site. I don't want anybody to ever have to go through what I have the last 13 months!
