Hey all,
Can someone please email me Dr. R's office information in NYC? I am looking to potentially switch LLMDs as I have a feeling mine is not keeping updated with ILADS information and is using abx I haven't heard of (like doxy hyclate- Acticlate). Has anyone used him? If so, what are your results and experiences with him?

I'm seeing hyclate is time released. He switched ours one time to hyclate also and when I asked, the office switched right back, pharm. said there really isn't much diff. between mono doxy, but for us, mono was about $20 cheaper per refill.

ps... you're freaking me out! dr. s - he's gotten awards from ilads!.... i'll never get A to nyc!

Eileen don't freak out! I'm not swaying I'm going to swith from Dr. S to someone else, I'm always keeping my options open. I also heard that he does not keep up to date with new information from ILADS and new research, which I don't know if that's true! I would stay with Dr. S for A if I were you. It's just easier for me because I work in the city and it's a lot harder to get down there from hoboken.

Dave, this is his website, I think it should be OK to post because it's public and he doesn't seem to be hiding. I have a different LLMD in the city, I don't remember if we've emailed.

Dave, I go to an LLMD in Staten Island. Not a bad drive at all and he is wonderful and very knowledgeable, and a Lyme sufferer himself so he has such a great understanding of what we go through. Also see a Dr. J in Jackson. She's wonderful too and deals more with diet and vitamins and supplements. Antibiotics only if necessary. I've heard good things about the Dr you are going to as well.

Hi. I am a former patient of Dr.R. He is good. He was the first to diagnose my babesia based on strae or strea (I don't know how to spell it; the stretch mark thing). I have no seen him in years. It was a frustrating time for both of us. That is to say he was frustrated I wasn't making more progress and I was frustrated. I wasn't getting any sleep. He even took the course to prescribe Xyrem to see if it would help (even at the max dose it didn't help).

I feel that it's hard for me to give a really good review because I know I would have made more progress had I been sleeping.

The bad: he left me on tinidazole too long at a dose too high (it caused some type of itching feeling in my brain which my NEW doctor said was actually die off).

The only really bad thing I can say is he had me on crazy high die off while on IV. I was so toxic I basically was lying in a dark room with ear plugs and unable to move otherwise I'd vomit. This lasted four months. I threw up so much I lost 40 pounds.

My new doctor says nobody should suffer with die-off like that.

Not really sure what else to say.

Hi folks,

Can anyone suggest a LLMD in NYC? I have been experiencing a host of issues over the last month and my PCP is skeptical, thinking all of the issues are separate from one another. An ELISA test came back with 1.47 screening and reactive to 23 KD IGM, but negative otherwise.

I looked over Dr. R's website but his prices are quite high and some of what I've read turns me off. Any help/insight would be great.

I am also researching LLMDs in NYC for my niece. (my husband lives there, so we could manage it).

Also would welcome any feedback re Dr. R in NYC, Dr. L in Pawling or Dr. P in Wilton . . .

the good? the bad? the ugly?

Trishums, as I said, send me an email. I have a dr in NYC that is not one of the ones you mentioned.
