Hang in there, Alyrose!! You can do this!
The problem with getting a second opinion from an ID doc is that they don't believe in chronic Lyme, and generally won't treat long enough to get rid of an early infection! They go by a whole different set of standards. It would be like comparing apples to limes. The only way it would work is if there is an ID doc that has been educated by ILADS, and those are rare. And LLMD's are going by science backed studies, so it's not like this is "experimental" or anything.
I've always thought it was such a shame to load someone up that's as sick as we generally are, with so much information - but there's really no other way to go about
it, I believe.
Take everything one step at a time. Lighterbeing has given you some really great suggestions - don't start more than one thing every few days -3 - 7, depending on how your body reacts. Each thing could set off a herx, so you want to make sure that you can know right away what to stop for a few days and then try again at a reduced dose, should that happen. And it would just overload your body and certainly cause you to herx.
Not everyone herxes either. Since you've been detoxing already, you might not - which would be a relief for you with your schedule.
And remember to breathe. You are in this for the long haul, not a sprint. Take this one step at a time, and remember that we are here for you. You can do this, as you have friends that can help - us!!
