Scared.

After months to year of weird symptoms, I finally went to the doctor and got blood work done. The first results that came back was low T3, but other thyroid markers normal. High monocytes, high C02, high glucose. High BUN and low GFR.
I am 24 years old and reasonably healthy until recently.
I've had chronic constipation for over six months and I stopped having my period in February and I am not pregnant nor am I sexually active. Ive started having severe panic attacks and mood swings. I have been crying all the time and my lower back has been hurting. I am in my first year of law school and my family and friends have been saying that "its all stress" and "its all in your head". Everyone close to me seemed to be implying that I was bringing on my own problems by putting pressure on myself to do well in school. I went to the hospital yesterday because I was having heart palpitations and after 5 hours of sitting around and waiting I was discharged with normal results and a print out on managing stress and breathing techniques. I was starting to doubt my own sanity and feel embarrassed to talk about how I wasn't feeling right because I felt like I sounded like I was crazy. I was starting to wonder if I am imagining things and doubt my own sanity. Today my doctor called and told me I have tested positive for lyme disease and I am going to have to do further testing. Everything I see online seems to say that its impossible to have a definite diagnosis. It seems like every possible symptom can be related to lyme disease somehow. I don't recall ever being bitten. My family still seems to think that maybe this is a false result and I don't know what to believe or how to feel.
I am trying to analyze my results and it just doesn't seem like anything is consistent. It seems like even doctors don't know what to make of the disease.
I had the Western Blot test and I have P41 igg, P41 igm and P23 igm present.
Anyone with any input?

I was told if band 23 is positive you have lyme since 23 is specific to lyme. My western blot was 23+ & 41+. I have a picture of an bulls eye rash on my back but thought it was a spider bite since I read there are no ticks in the PNW. Anyway I had all the symptoms you are describing. If I were you I would find a lyme literate Dr in your area and start treatment before things get worse. Best of luck!

I don't have much to say that the other than your story really hit close to home.
I started having all of my symptoms when I went to chiropractic college about 15 years ago. Unlike you I was never diagnosed until just recently when I ordered my own Igenix test and self diagnosed. No MD's around here have a clue or chiropractors for that matter. We just aren't taught that mush about it in school not to mention the information we got was what the CDC advocates.
My symptoms are almost identical to yours with panic/anxiety, back pain, stomach (ibs) issues and hormonal problems. I remember one time pulling into the parking lot getting ready to go to class and I just broke down crying like a little baby. I had no idea what was wrong with me or why I would do that, guys don't cry. I never remember being bitten by a tick but was bitten many times by fleas and chiggers from my lawn. There is a lot of controversy out there about what can actually spread it. Also you could have had a previous somewhat dormant infection that came out due to stress. I don't mean to talk about myself too mush I only posted that to show that there are people out there who understand and have gone trough what you are dealing with. Unfortunately these bugs literally get in your head and cause all kinds problems.
I am happy that you have a Dr. who was able to connect the dots and at least order the test when he/she did, and hopefully get you the treatment you need to get off of the marry go round.

​ You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) trained doctor, as ID Docs (Infectious Disease Doctors) believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme. Something to consider though, your doctor that you see now knew that a positive on Band 23 means you have Lyme. There are very few doctors that aren't specifically trained by ILADS that don't understand this. I would suggest that you call your doctor's office and ask if he/she has had that training. If so, then you don't have to go find another doc!!

Everything is one step at a time, so hang in there. There are no "quick fixes" with these infections and there will be a lot to learn. We are here to help you find answers, know what to ask about, and to provide you with some support. You are not alone.
