Different IV abx now

I talked to my lyme doc today and told her that altho I have been taking 4 mos of rocephin with minocycline, tinidaz and clarytho I have little progress. So now I will start a new mix of abx and a new IV which is invanz.

Have you heard of this IV abx? And is it weird to have no results from rocephin? I had heard that would be more effective.

I'm not familiar with Invanse. It depends on what your dominant infection is. Did she put you on anything for Babesia?

I don't know what changes she will make in my oral meds. But for now I am taking Banderol and a tincture for babesia.
She might change it all up, I will let you know.

Invanz is the brand name for Vancomycin, which is often used to treat C-Diff. There is a saying about Vancomycin: Vancomycin vanquishes. It is a very strong antibiotic so doctors are very careful about bacteria becoming resistant to it, which is why it is typically reserved for life threatening infections like C-diff.

Seems your doc wants to see if/how you'll react to a powerful antibiotic. I really don't mean to scare you here lol, just adding my 2 cents. Just remember to detox and don't be afraid to take a lower dose at the beginning if it makes you feel too bad. I really do hope it works for you!

Sueg - in addition to my current LLMD, I have an appointment with dr. M in Waukesha in like less than 2 weeks. I was wondering if you would be willing to shed some light on your experience with her and treatment?? I would greatlyyyy appreciate it! You could email me if that makes you feel more comfortable! Actually if it is Invanz, it is Ertapenem. Different from Vancomycin.

I recently learned that The #1 LLMD doesn't even use rocephin at all! He says, "It's a baby medicine". His quote, not mine.

So, don't be too concerned that you didn't respond. You gave it long enough, it's time for you to switch things up. Don't worry! You will find the right med. It just takes time.

I didn't respond to it at all either. And, many who do respond to it, relapse once they get off. Another reason he won't use it. So, this particular LLMD uses better stuff and has the best track record. In fact, all the people who fail rocephin with the other "popular" llmd's end up going to him.

Hopefully this makes you feel a little more at ease. Give the new med a whirl. It might be just the right one for you. Fingers crossed.

OK, the new IV med is Invanz and I will start it on Wed. Going to the doc ofc to get the first new infusion. I was on IV Rocephin for 4 mos. with few changes. And also I still take oral abx along with that and supplemts. Plus now I will take Banderol and Pinella and a detox kit from the lyme doc! Will let you know....
