The press release says:

"A new Lyme disease test that's said to achieve greater
accuracy in results is in the clinical phase at Internal
Medicine of Northern Virginia in Reston.

The Lyme Antigen Test, which uses the Nanotrap technology,
was developed jointly between George Mason University's
Center for Applied Proteomics and Molecular Medicine (CAPMM)
and Ceres Nanosciences."

I hate to sound cynical, but does it seem that there is this flurry with so many labs allegedly racing for "the" test, etc, yet running in place? Every time I turn around there is a newest & greatest to detect/cure, yet it stalls & nary a word thereafter...aghhhh...I give up.

Yes me too... really don't want to be cynical... want to stay in positive mindset.. and yet, how can they test for it when it seems designed to play hide and seek? If i remember correctly... the rules while playing hide and seek did not include anyone becoming invisible... but the Lyme bacteria gets to cheat apparently.
I guess i am in the wrong mood right now... gotta get back on track and believe that there is a solution out there... just waiting to be found.

I'm also very interested in this nano trap Lyme antigen test. Several weeks ago, I was trying to get a new patient appt at dr Sam shor's office in Reston va, where that test is now offered. Betty returned my calls initially and informed me about the nanotrap test they had just started offering. Betty suggested that I could come in for the test right away (only takes 5 min) rather than wait for full appt.

Ready to fork over the $500 for the test, I found a friend willing to drive me the 2+ hours each way to pee in a cup. I was excited to find out definitively whether Lyme was a cause of my illness and didn't want to wait the extra weeks to get an appointment to be evaluated. I figured I would find an LLMD only if the test were positive. However, at that point, I could not get betty or anyone else in dr shor's office to return my phone calls to confirm that I could come in for the nanotrap test. Quite strange since they initially called me back twice and their office had suggested the test to me as an option.

I have become more skeptical and unwilling to risk wasting my time and money plus my drivers time. I have meanwhile seen another doc with Lyme experience and had other labs done. Still, I'm wanting more clarity about my diagnosis.

Anyway, does this nanotrap test give any info about potential co-infections?

Does anyone have experience with the test?

I emailed Ceres lab several weeks ago but have gotten no response.
