can I follow the protocol of buhrner with no guidance of LLND ??

how much does it usually cost me ?

did you benefit from it ?

what if i don't find it useful, will the money go wasted.?

how do you manage buying new herbs and supplements to try every now and then, it is a lot of money wasted if they don't agree with ur body or you don't benefit from them ?

It's a good idea to have a LLND guide you...but having said that, my LLND doesn't follow the Buhner protocol fully, he has his own ideas.

But, prior to my diagnosis, i followed Buhner's protocol on my own. I believe it is safe to do on your own.

I think for me it cost approx. $200 per month. But, I've kind of lost track...and that might be before I ramped up on high doses.

It's hard to tell if I benefited because I started it in May for lyme and in July switched to antibiotics. Then in December, I added the Buhner herbs for bartonella to my lyme antibiotics.

I haven't been buying too many different herbs that I give up on so far. I have chosen to stick with buhner and add different things to support my body, such as ALA, Vit. D, curcumin and other things.
But for the lyme treatment, I have stuck with Buhner along with the antibiotics.

and how are you feeling with these ?

I am functioning better than when I first got symptoms two years ago.

One of my symptoms is pain...and I find it hard to deal with emotionally.

I am not working - as I have some flares during the day...usually late afternoon, early evening...that I could not handle well at work.

I am doing quite a bit, though, in fact i just travelled with a friend to a concert - and spent a night in a hotel...few hours of driving, ferry ride...and I managed okay. I had my moments...but I was able to enjoy myself. (not like I used to...as it's always 'with me'...but I'm hoping to be rid of this one day)

Just like with abx protocols, there are no guarantees with herbal protocols. You may find that some are of no use to you for one reason or another.

With that said, most find that herbs are at least beneficial to their treatments, even when they are using abx as well.

I healed with just herbs - although not Buhner's protocol. My husband was just infected and once he's done with the measly 2 weeks of abx that he was given for a "possible" Lyme infection, I will encourage him to use either what I did (I still have some of those herbs) or Buhner's as I have a lot of confidence in Buhner's protocols. Buhner is a world renown Master Herbalist and many have had good success with his protocols.

Its important to expose yourself to as much info on the person that you can get...
Youtube is great... especially when my mind can't process reading alot... i can
pause...go back...repeat... until i "get it"...

I think that you can follow a protocol without a LLND/MD ... But i would prefer
having guidance if i could afford it... But i hear that Buhner is reasonable...
*especially if you buy in bulk & make your own tinctures/teas etc...

But... it would require starting slow... and working up to the dose(s) that work
for your body.

There are alot of buts... but :) I think it is worth it in the end... because then
you have an education on herbals... and a deeper understanding of your own body.

Hi abenewhere,

I didn't use Buhner though I really liked his first book "Healing Lyme". I followed a protocol from Dr. Jernigan's book and I remember I wasn't expecting much as I was "experimenting" with different supplements during that time, i.e. Samento, Silver, etc.

Anyway, I started with 1 bottle of Borrelogen which costs me $48.00 plus shipping and I was really shocked that I felt a huge difference within the first 2 weeks so I continued with that protocol until I became healed (a little over a year, maybe 14 months). I took 2 botanicals for a few months, then took 3, then back to 2, then 3 again. So the most it cost me a month was $150.00.

I didn't use any doctors because I felt confident using his book. I guess I was lucky!
