IGenex pos, CDC neg. tummy aches, headaches, stiff neck. Sick for 3 yrs. worse over time.

Do I insist on IV abx?

Has she seen a pediatric LLMD in the past? Or do adult LLMD's treat children? So hard to watch the children suffer with this monster disease.

Hi my child is ten and has been treated using oral antibiotics. He had lyme for some time before it was detected. Seeing as your child had the disease for at least three years you might want to use oral abx due to the extended period he/she may need them. Best of luck and you need a good llmd.

My LLMD also treats peds. Can't get her in til the end of August.

Hi Utahgirl is it possible to get her to a walk in treatment center or dermatologist before then. That is a long time to wait. Also the cryptolepis 5-10 drops a day I believe is the children's dosage.

while you are waiting for your appointment you could try Borrelogen three times a day and anti tox three times a day ( from the HAnsa center)

First of all, I'm so very sorry that your little girl has this. She's in good hands with you though!

Rather than just sit around waiting for the LLMD, I would at least start her on the three main herbs from Buhner's Lyme protocol - Japanese knotweed, Cat's Claw and Eleuthero. Just be sure to go to Buhner's site or one of his books to get the correct dosage for your daughter's size. buhnerhealinglyme.com/the-protocols/

My husband just rx'd her cefdinir until she can get into LLMD. I may add some Jap knotweed next week. I'll have to get my Buhner book out and look up kid dose.

Poor kid's been sick for 3 yrs and no one thought of Lyme! Geesh! Weird how her symptoms are so different than mine. She has nausea, headaches, and occasional stiff necks. I didn't know that Lyme could cause nausea.

I wasted the last 3 yrs on a dumb pediatric GI doc who didn't do squat. I hope this antibiotic helps!

Good luck Utahgal. My little guy did great on Cefdinir. We later added in Azithromycin and that was the combo that kicked it. He had some herxes but nothing too bad. We ramped up with one antibiotic for the first month and added the second in the second month. So not so bad that you have to wait a bit now for the appt. At least you're getting her going on a treatment. Don't forget to have her detox! We do 10 drops Burbur and 10 drops Parsley 2x per day. Also Epsom salt baths and lots of water. Thinking of you!

Lyme messed with my entire digestive tract so bad that I had 24/7 nausea - sometimes it was so bad that others thought I was about to pass out because I was so pale- as well as messing with my intestines. It can get into every part of the body, including the bones and brain.

I'm so glad that your hubby prescribed her something!!!

Meg is taking her cefdinir. It does make her nausea even worse. I cut back her dose a little to give her time to adjust. She's only been on it a few days.

I went off all orals and herbs as they don't help at all! No point in taking meds/herbs that do nothing!!! I will get a PICC soon and do IV meds. Not just rocephin, but better stuff. We shall see.......

Both of my llmd's (who are both friends with Dr. H) said, "You will not get better without long term IV abx". So, I guess I need to bite the bullet. Lol.

I hope that you are making some progress. I think of you often.

Looks like we are still getting the same treatment lol. I've went off of pretty much everything and about to start IV IM too.

Cefdinir is the only thing I've been taking lately. I empathize with your daughters nausea. It's one of my worst symptoms. I'm down to only 94 pounds. It's ridiculous. I can't keep anything down. Lame!!

I think of you often too. Take care :)
